Good News for Aspiring Teachers: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the STET 2025 notification. The application window opens on September 11 and will close on September 19. Successfully passing this exam is crucial as it allows candidates to apply for the BPSC TRE-4 (fourth phase teacher recruitment). Thus, clearing the STET is the essential first step towards a teaching career. Below, we outline the application process, subject-specific eligibility, and necessary documentation.

Subject-Specific Eligibility for Bihar STET

1. Paper 1 (Secondary Level)


For subjects such as Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Maithili, Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, English, Bhojpuri, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, candidates must have a graduation degree in the relevant subject, a B.Ed with a postgraduate degree, or an integrated BA-B.Ed or B.Sc-B.Ed.


Special Combinations:


- Mathematics: Graduation in Mathematics and Physics, Chemistry, Computer, or Statistics


- Science: Graduation in Biology, Botany, Chemistry, or an Engineering Degree


- Social Science: Graduation in History, Geography, Economics, or Political Science (with at least one subject in History or Geography)


- Language Subjects: Graduation in the relevant language


2. Paper 2 (Higher Secondary Level)


For subjects like Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, and Home Science, candidates need a Master's degree in the relevant subject along with a B.Ed or BA-B.Ed or B.Sc-B.Ed or a 3-year B.Ed-M.Ed course.


3. Commerce:


Master's in Commerce with a minimum of 50% marks, covering subjects like Accounts, Business Studies, and Entrepreneurship.


4. Computer Science:


Qualifications include an MCA or MSc in Computer Science, B.Tech or B.E. in CS or IT, or a BCA with a Master's in any subject. A B.Ed is not required for Computer Science candidates.


5. Agriculture:


Graduation in Agriculture or Horticulture with at least 50% marks, or an M.Sc. in Agronomy, Genetics, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, etc.


6. Music:


Master's in Music from a recognized university.

  • 10th and 12th grade certificates and mark sheets

  • Graduation and post-graduation certificates

  • B.Ed. or other relevant degree/diploma

  • Residence certificate

  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
