Students wishing to get admission in Delhi University, who could not make their place in the cut-off list, the university may be given another chance to get admission. The university has decided to conduct a second mop-up admission round to fill thousands of vacant seats of undergraduate (UG) courses in the recent Executive Council meeting.

DU admission: Delhi University (DU) has decided to conduct a second mop-up admission round to fill thousands of undergraduate (UG) seats still vacant in its Executive Council (EC) meeting on Friday. In a statement issued by the university, it has been told that Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh has proposed an open mop-up round so that students can get direct admission in colleges instead of a centralized online process. He has recommended that this round be conducted in physical mode and has asked the EC to formulate a policy for this.

9500 seats are still vacant in the university

Even after admission in five phases, about 9,500 seats are still vacant in the colleges of Delhi University (DU). 709 seats are vacant in Sister Nivedita College, 674 in Aditi Mahavidyalaya and 300 to 400 seats in many other colleges. Less than 20 seats are vacant in top colleges like Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram College and Hindu College.

Admission will be given on the basis of 12th marks

In the mop-up round, Delhi University will allot seats to the candidates on the basis of 12th marks and their given preferences instead of CUET scores. An attempt will be made to give better options to the applicants keeping in mind their merit and choice. Candidates can log in to their dashboard and see in which college and course they have got a seat.
