Lucknow. To improve the traffic network of Uttar Pradesh, a new 4-lane Greenfield Expressway is going to start soon between Agra and Aligarh. The project is being developed under the Bharat Mala Scheme and with its completion, the passengers will be very easy and fast to travel between these two major cities.

There will be tremendous boom in the journey

The total length of the Agra-Aligarh Greenfield Expressway is about 65 kilometers. After its construction, the distance from Agra to Aligarh can be completed within just one hour, which is much less time than so far. This will not only save the time of the passengers, but will also strengthen business and economic activities.

The first phase of construction will be completed soon

Construction work of about 28 km in the first phase of this expressway is going to be completed soon. This part will start from the National Highway 509 of Aligarh and will go to Asroi village near Hathras district. After the first phase, the expressway will also be linked to the Bareilly-Mathura Highway and Agra-Noida Yamuna Expressway, which will improve the road system of the entire area.

Land acquisition and compensation process

322 hectares of land is being acquired from about 48 villages in Hathras district for this project. The process of compensation distribution is also increasing rapidly, in which about 50 percent of the farmers have been compensated so far. Overall, an amount of about 600 crore rupees will be given to about 400 farmers as compensation.

Total cost of project and company

This expressway is being built at a cost of about Rs 1536.9 crore. The responsibility of its construction has been given to the Haryana company KRC Infra Project Private Limited. The second phase of the expressway will start from Khandauli in Agra and spread to Asroi in Hathras, which is 36.9 km in length and will be connected to the Yamuna Expressway.

There will be a big contribution in regional development

With the construction of this expressway, not only will the contact between Agra and Aligarh be easy, but also will promote economic and social development in the surrounding districts including Hathras. Better road connectivity will also benefit industries, business activities and tourism. Especially the tourism possibilities of Tajnagri Agra will be even more bright because the journey from Agra to Aligarh will be easier.
