How do Central Government Hindi teachers become?

Central government schools, such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan-KVS, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti-NVS have some fixed steps to become a Hindi teacher-

  • First the candidate has to complete degrees like B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) or Deled.
  • After this, it is mandatory for the candidate to pass CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • After qualifying CTET, candidates can apply for teacher recruitment examinations of KVS, NVS or other Kendriya Vidyalayas.
  • On the basis of merit and experience, candidates are selected to the post of PRT, TGT or PGT Hindi teacher.

What is the qualification to become a Hindi teacher?

PRT (Primary Teacher): D.El.Ed and CTET Paper 1 should be passed with minimum 12th pass.

TGT (Trend Graduate Teacher): It is necessary to pass BED and CTET Paper 2 with graduation degree (in Hindi subject).

PGT (Post Graduate Teacher): There should be a bed with postgraduate degree in Hindi. CTET is not needed, but the recruitment examination of KVS or NVS has to be passed.

Central Government Teacher Salary (Teacher Salary in India 2025)

The salary of a government teacher is fixed according to the 7th Pay Commission. Salary changes based on experience, position and posting location.

PRT (Primary Teacher): 40,000 rupees to 50,000 rupees (starting gross)

TGT (Trend Graduate Teacher): 50,000 to 60,000 rupees

PGT (Post Graduate Teacher): 55,000 rupees to 65,000 rupees

Professor or Lecturer: 60,000 to Rs 80,000 (dependent on seniority)

Apart from this, facilities like DA, HRA, Medical Allowance, LTC and pension are also available.
