Jwala Gutta's Inspiring Donation Initiative
Indian badminton champion Jwala Gutta is making a significant impact both on and off the court. Recently, the Arjuna awardee, who has embraced motherhood, has taken a commendable step by donating breast milk to assist premature and critically ill infants. Gutta visits a government hospital daily to contribute 600 ml of breast milk as part of a donor milk initiative aimed at providing nourishment to babies who lack maternal support.
In just four months, she has generously donated 30 liters of breast milk. Her selfless act has garnered widespread admiration on social media. Breast milk, rich in essential nutrients, is crucial for all infants, particularly those born prematurely or facing health challenges. Unfortunately, some mothers struggle with lactation, leading to a shortage of breast milk for their babies. In such situations, donor breast milk becomes a vital resource. Human milk banks play a key role in collecting and distributing this milk to those in need, and Gutta's contributions are part of this important effort.
In a heartfelt message on social media, Gutta stated, "Breast milk saves lives. For premature and sick babies, donor milk can be life-changing. If you’re able to donate, you could be a hero to a family in need. Learn more, share the word, and support milk banks! 💜 #BreastMilkDonation #DonateMilk #InfantHealth."
Through her post, Gutta emphasized the life-saving potential of breast milk and urged mothers to consider donating if possible. She called for increased awareness and support for milk banks, encouraging public participation in this vital cause. By doing so, the badminton star joins a growing movement of public figures advocating for maternal and infant health.
Gutta and her husband, Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal, welcomed their daughter on April 22, coinciding with their fourth wedding anniversary. The couple confirmed their relationship in 2020 and tied the knot in 2021. Vishnu shared the joyous news of their baby girl's arrival, stating, "We are blessed with a BABY GIRL.. Aryan is an elder brother now… It’s our 4th wedding anniversary today… On the same day, we welcome this gift from the Almighty… Need all your love and blessings.."
