Messi's Special Gesture for PM Modi
Gurugram: Renowned football icon Lionel Messi has graciously sent a signed jersey from the Argentina team, commemorating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday on September 17.
Messi is set to visit India from December 13 to 15 this year. His itinerary reveals that he will first arrive in Kolkata, a city passionate about football, on December 13, before moving to Mumbai the following day. The Argentine superstar will wrap up his trip in New Delhi on December 15, where a meeting with PM Modi is anticipated.
"Messi has sent a signed jersey for PM Modi's 75th birthday. We will make efforts to facilitate a meeting between them during his visit. He has expressed his good wishes for Indian fans and is excited to meet them in New Delhi and Mumbai for the first time," stated Satadru Dutta, a sports entrepreneur and promoter of Messi's tour.
"He will arrive in India on December 13, starting in Kolkata, then heading to Mumbai on December 14, and finally departing for New Delhi on December 15. Events are planned at Salt Lake Stadium, Wankhede Stadium, and Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium," he added.
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has announced that the world champions are expected to play a friendly match in Kerala in November. If all goes well, Messi is likely to captain the team during this friendly match, as confirmed by Kerala's Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman.
The Kerala Football Association (KFA), in partnership with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), is finalizing the logistics, including the venue selection.
Should Messi participate in the Kerala match, it would mean the football star visits India twice within two months, creating unforgettable memories for his fans in the country.
