How long can Aadhaar update for free?
From UIDAI, the facility to update online updates online for free of demographic details like name, address, date of birth, gender etc. has been increased till 14 June 2026.
Take care - This feature is available only on the online portal (Myadhaar). If you want to go to Aadhaar Seva Kendra and update, then you have to pay a fee.
How to update free Aadhaar while sitting at home? It is very easy to update the identification and address information in Aadhaar online: visit the official website of UIDAI: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
Login: Enter your Aadhaar number and fill the OTP on the registered mobile number.
Choose Document Update section: Here you will see your Aadhaar details. If there is any improvement in the information, move forward.
Upload the document: Scan and upload documents related to ID Proof and Address Proof. Example: For identification - PAN card, voter ID, for passport address - electricity bill, bank statement, passbook, ration card etc.
Submit and URN Note: On submitting the application, you will get an update request number (URN) of 14 marks. With this you can track the status of your update.
