New Delhi: In today’s times cars are one of most important aspect for daily use, there was a time when people were mainly interested in Sedans due to it’s luxury feel and comfort, but now the people choice has been change with the high ground clearance vehicles, also known as  Sport Utility Vehicles – SUVs in the market, customer preference has shifted drastically especially in India where SUVs became a necessity due to poor road engineering.

Following trend the Maruti Suzuki has come up with their new midsize SUV, Victoria, after the successful market of their previous SUV Grand Vitara. The both SUV’s are from Suzuki but from different categories, Suzuki launched the Victoris from their Arena showroom, while the Grand Vitra is sold from their premium NEXA outlet. Both of the SUV’s are identical in several terms but also some differences remain, here is the comparison between Victoris & Grand Vitara so buyers can make a fair judgment and can purchase the car according to their need.

Both SUVs are nearly identical in terms of size. Both cars are based on the Global C platform with length of 4345mm, width of 1795mm, and height of 1645mm. However the Victoris is just 15mm longer and 10mm taller, while the wheelbase of the SUVs are the same at 2600mm with the same 17 inch dual tone alloys. As from the front of the car the Victoris comes with a plain and unattractive facing while the Grand vitara has a more prominent and beautiful grill above the front bumper. The Victoris looks large in size and has a steeper rake for the rear windshield while the Grand Vitara has a more attractive front and more upright rear windshield.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris vs Grand Vitara Interior design

Inside the Victoris features a large 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen at the top of the dash, along with more functionality, default installed apps and an in-built navigation system, while Granda Vitara doesn’t come with these features. The Victoris also features a powered tailgate with Gesture control. Even though Victoris is the first vehicle from Maruti to come with ADAS safety features and also have five-star rating in both Bharat NCAP and in Global NCAP.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris vs Grand Vitara powertrain option

Under the bonnet, the Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara shares all the powertrain options to the Victoria. It has 1.5-litre 4-cylinder mild hybrid petrol engine with 103hp, 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder strong hybrid setup with 116hp and an 89hp, 1.5-litre petrol-CNG option. For the petrol the SUV features a 5-speed manual and 6-speed AT, an e-CVT for the strong hybrid, and a 5-speed manual for the CNG variants. 

While the Victoris drivers have option of all-wheel drive with the petrol-auto configuration, including the Victoris CNG tanks fit under the body, thus freeing up boot space while in Grand Vitara, the CNG tanks greatly compromise the available boot space.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Grand Vitara price

The Victoris will be sold through the Arena outlet at starting price of Rs. 10.5 lakh to Rs. 19.99 lakh and the Grand Vitara will be retailed through Nexa showroom, price starts from Rs. 11.42 lakh to Rs. 20.68. These ex-showroom prices will be applicable according to the variant of car.
