The Great British Sewing Bee fans said the same thing as the 2025 winner was announced on Tuesday (September 16).

The finale of the cherished BBC series saw pattern-loving scientist Yasmin, two-time garment of the week champion Caz and 19-year-old Orla battle it out in multiple tasks.

Following three tension-filled challenges, presenter Sara Pascoe announced that Caz had claimed the series victory, after impressing judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant.

However, the programme's viewers were left disappointed with the judges' verdict, as they believed that Orla or Yasmin deserved to triumph.

"Caz won it, an absolute travesty. Shocking result!" one person posted on X (formerly Twitter), with another commenting: "The other girls were robbed," reports Wales Online.

A third remarked: "Gasp!" whilst another similarly expressed: "Disappointed again with this year's winner, should have been Orla."

Meanwhile, others expressed their joy at Caz claiming the crochet trophy, with one person posting: "I would've been happy for any of them to win but Caz I think was the best in the final, her made to measure was amazing and deserved the win."

Another commented: "Well done to Caz, what a lovely woman," whilst a third remarked: "Amazing winner. She was always my favourite."

A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, stating: "Honestly any one of those finalists would have been a worthy winner but Caz's made to measure was just exceptionally WOW! Congratulations Caz."

Earlier in the episode, Caz found herself at the bottom of the leaderboard in the pattern challenge, which required the finalists to create a bias-cut dress with a cowl neck and spaghetti straps.

However, she quickly bounced back by clinching first place in the next task, where she transformed a collection of translucent tulle, organza and lace garments into a black-stripe motif dress.

In the made-to-measure task, the finalists were tasked with mastering the art of trompe l'oeil, creating illusions with fabric to fit their chosen friend or family member.

Caz crafted a dress featuring an external ribcage and a heart, as a tribute to the healthcare staff who cared for her during her open heart surgery four years prior.

"I've gone and won something! I didn't think I'd be able to do it. I remember that very first catwalk, phoning my husband up and going, 'I'm literally in awe of these people,'" an astonished Caz said after her triumph.

"When I was a child, I loved sewing, and you have no fear as a child, you just sew anything. I think it's really important to get that fun back. That's why most of us sew. We sew for the sheer joy and the love of it, and I've got a lot of love for it. It's brilliant, it's truly, truly brilliant."
