News Desk. A big relief news has come out for the people of Uttar Pradesh. The National Highway-27 (NH-27) passing between Jhansi to Kanpur, which is currently four lane, is now going to be transformed into six lanes. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has started work seriously on the scheme and initial procedures to the project have also been completed.
Why was it necessary to widen the highway?
The NH-27 was built in the year 2016 and then it was the forelane route, which was sufficient according to the needs of that time. But in the last few years, the traffic burden on this route has increased continuously. Especially due to the increase in the number of heavy vehicles and regional industrialization, this highway is now becoming the cause of jam. People traveling daily have to get stuck in traffic for hours.
Current status of six lane project
NHAI has already completed the survey work to convert this highway into six lane. After this, the detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared, which has been sent to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for approval. According to the report, the width of this Fourlane Highway is currently about 21.5 meters, which will be increased to 32.5 meters.
What will be the benefit of people?
Time saving in travel: The movement of vehicles will be intensified by the wide route and the problem of traffic jam will decrease.
Economic growth promoted: Better connectivity will give great benefits to industrial areas, traders and farmers.
Road safety improvement:More lane means overtaking and movement of heavy vehicles can be better controlled.
