Patna. A big news to the Revenue and Land Reforms Department of the Bihar government is coming out, which is being considered relief towards the administrative functioning and land reform of the state. Most of the survey contract workers sitting on strike for a long time are now returning to work. Following the initiative and agreement of the department, out of 7000 striking contract workers, 5223 personnel have returned to their duty so far.
What is the matter?
The Revenue Maha Abhiyan in Bihar started from 16 August, which is scheduled to run till 20 September. This campaign is being carried out for important tasks like land survey, measured, land rights determination and land improvement. The role of survey contract workers is considered very important in the success of this campaign. However, some time ago, about 7000 contract workers associated with the department went on strike, which started affecting the pace of the campaign. Taking this problem seriously, the department issued an order on 3 September, in which the striking personnel were given an opportunity to return to work without any punishment.
How is the return?
To ensure the withdrawal of contract workers, the department has prepared a separate portal, where striking workers can intention to return to work by applying online. The department is reviewing those applications and granting permission. So far, approval has been given for the return of 5223 personnel. Only 502 appeal representations were approved on Wednesday. At the same time, the review process of other applications continues rapidly.
What is the expectation of the department?
The department hopes that by the coming Monday, all the remaining personnel will also return to work. If this happens, the revenue Maha Abhiyan can be carried forward further.
