Brits could get £175 for free if they switch to certain Nationwide Building Society accounts from today. Customers can choose between three different account types, including two fee-free options, to be eligible.

These include the FlexAccount account, which has no fees and is available online or in branch. Customers could go for the FlexPlus account, which costs £18 monthly and includes worldwide family travel coverage, mobile phone protection and breakdown assistance. The online FlexDirect account is also eligible, which offers a 5% interest rate on deposits up to £1,500, and cashback rewards up to £5 monthly, for the first 12 months.

Tom Riley, the director of Group Retail Products at Nationwide Building Society, said: "It's never been more rewarding to be a Nationwide member and that's why we want to help more people benefit by offering this switching offer!"

Customers must switch accounts through the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) to be eligible, and previous recipients of Nationwide switching offers cannot participate.

They can switch through the Nationwide website, internet bank, mobile banking app, telephone or, in branch.

Last year, Nationwide returned over £1 billion to eligible members through its £100 Fairer Share Payment and Big Nationwide Thank You payment, while this year it paid over £400 million through Fairer Share.

The new Switching Incentive is available on applications started on or after September 18, 2025.
