New Delhi. Monday i.e. 22 September 2025 is the first day of Navratri. From this day, new GST rates are going to be implemented across the country. GST earlier had rates of 0, 5, 12, 18 and 28 percent+cess. Now in GST, only 4 rates 0, 5, 18 and 40 percent tax will be levied on different things. This will make it easier for the common man and the poor to buy things that make life everyday and easy. In the new GST, most of the things have been brought at the rate of 5 per cent, which were earlier in 18 and 12 per cent. At the same time, all of the 5 percent GST items will no longer have any GST.

Talk about 18 percent GST rate, it will get cement, 350 cc bikes and small cars. Cement, which spends the most money in building a house, will also be available at a GST rate of 18 percent. Earlier, cement used to cost 28 percent GST. Double door fridge, TV, washing machine and dish washer will now have to pay 18 percent GST instead of 28. This is going to save a lot of common people. After purchasing them, people will be able to invest the remaining amount or you will be able to use it on something else. Overall, the government has given a big gift by making all these goods cheap.

Now let’s talk about everyday things, which will no longer have any GST. These include milk, curd, cheese, papa bread, roti, chapati, paratha, kulcha, khakhara, 33 life saving medicines, medical grade oxygen, copy, pencil, notebook, eraser, pastel, crayon and sharpner. Along with zero GST on these things of everyday needs, the government has also given great relief to the common people on taking insurance. Now no GST will be taken on all other insurance including medical insurance, leaving insurance of vehicles. With this, not much money will have to be paid on the contribution or contribution for a new insurance policy. GST was implemented in the year 2017. After that GST rates have been cut for the first time.
