In his early stages, many directors had rejected him due to the looks. But director Fazil took him in the film and this decision proved to be the game-changer of Mohanlal’s career. After this, Mohanlal played the role of Villain in 25 films. His negative role in the films ‘Sandhyaku Virinja Puvu’ and ‘Kuileen Thedi’ was highly appreciated.

Around 1984, he started doing light-hearted and comic rolls. Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s friendship with director Priyadarshan. Mohanlal played the first comic role in the film ‘Puchakoru Mukkuthi’, which proved to be a superhit. After this, Mohanlal acted in 44 films of Priyadarshan. Around 1986, Mohanlal’s career was peak. His film was released every 15 days and 34 films were released in a year, of which 25 were hits. It is not a matter of everyone to make this record.
