In Los Angeles, Johnny Depp is facing backlash after his rescue dog was involved in a tragic incident that resulted in the death of two sheep. The actor, aged 62, is currently renting a mansion in East Sussex, where the event reportedly occurred during a countryside walk when the dog escaped.
At the time of the attack, Depp was not present at the residence. Following the incident, he has engaged a professional trainer and implemented additional safety measures to prevent future occurrences. The bullmastiff, named Bourbon, allegedly broke free from a handler before attacking the sheep.
Joe Ginger, the owner of the sheep, expressed his frustration, stating, "I take my work and my sheep very seriously; it is my business. It is a serious matter." A source revealed that the dog escaped while being walked by Depp's aide, leading to the unfortunate event.
The attack reportedly took place on farmland adjacent to Depp's rental property, which costs approximately $16,000 per month. Ginger is understandably upset about the situation. Sources indicate that such dog attacks are not rare in the area when proper training is lacking.
Depp was reportedly distressed upon learning of the incident, especially since he sought tranquility at his East Sussex home. The historic mansion, built in the mid-1800s, features beautifully landscaped grounds and a unique sunken walled garden. It is located near the former residence of his late friend, guitarist Jeff Beck, who passed away in 2023. The sheep were valued at around $242 each, and the land where the attack occurred is believed to belong to the same landlord renting Depp's property.
