Mobile provider O2 is offering free restaurant discount cards as part of a new rewards initiative, saving customers nearly £80 on a membership.

Tastecards are usually priced at £79.99 for a 12-month subscription and offer discounts at thousands of restaurants and fast-food spots across the UK. People can enjoy a range of savings deals, including two-for-one options, saving them an estimated average of £23 per trip out. Customers accessing the 'Blue Mondays' feature on the O2 Priority app can now get one of these cards for free.

Blue Mondays is the provider's new weekly initiative, offering a new reward every Monday for the length of a month. Prizes can include discounts on tickets to UK theme parks to free food. All O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers can access the provider's exclusive Priority app.

Members can use their Tastecard at big-name restaurants like Beefeater, PizzaExpress, Domino's and Krispy Kreme, as well as hundreds of independent eateries nationwide.

Alongside the Tastecard membership, new drops available on Blue Mondays also include a free 12-month digital subscription from a choice of more than 29 magazines, including Grazia and Empire, as well as a free sweet treat from popular bakery Greggs.

O2 said: "Priority is O2's way of saying thanks to its customers and is available exclusively to those with an O2 mobile plan or Virgin Media broadband services."

Other exciting offers currently available on the Priority app this month include a prize draw to win a mystery holiday with lastminute.com, and two-for-one tickets to future Sofar Sounds gigs.

Christian Hindennach, chief commercial officer at Virgin Media O2, said: "We're always looking for new ways to offer our customers unmissable live experiences and bring them closer to the action.

"Whether it's providing 48-hour Priority access to tickets, the opportunity to enjoy unforgettable meet-and-greet experiences or great value rewards like two-for-one tickets to Sofar Sounds gigs, we want to make live entertainment even more accessible and memorable for all of our customers to enjoy."
