Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors (GUY) in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 to clinch the title for the fifth time.
Speaking about the match, Guyana skipper Imran Tahir won the toss and opted to field first. However, his team struggled from the outset and failed to post a competitive total. Iftikhar Ahmed was the top scorer with 30 runs, as the Guyana Amazon Warriors finished at 130/8. Saurabh Netravalkar was the pick of the bowlers for Trinbago Knight Riders with figures of 3/25, while Akeal Hosein also bowled impressively, taking 2/26.
Chasing 131, Trinbago Knight Riders faced some challenges but successfully reached the target in 18 overs. Alex Hales was the top scorer for Trinbago Knight Riders with 26 runs, while Hosein played the finishing role. For Guyana, Tahir took 3/34, Dwaine Pretorius 2/21, and Shamar Joseph 2/9, but their efforts were insufficient to defend the total.
