With Aryan Khan’s first directorial show, The Ba**ds of Bollywood, releasing on Netflix, it became the buzz of the town overnight. With its unapologetic storytelling and surprise star appearances, the show was able to pique the interest of both die-hard Bollywood fans and the casual binge-watcher alike. But amidst all the fuss, there’s one scene that has won the internet’s heart: Raghav Juyal performing the evergreen Kaho Na Kaho number with none other than Emraan Hashmi.

The incident has since become viral, and fans have been hailing the authenticity, humor, and unadulterated emotional honesty Raghav approached it with. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, the actor and dancer opened up about how he prepared for the sequence, how it felt to share the screen with Emraan, and the kind of bond he’s developed with Aryan Khan while working on the show.

The Viral ‘Kaho Na Kaho’ Moment

In the series, Raghav plays Parvaiz, the loyal best friend of Lakshya’s character, Aasmaan Singh. Parvaiz, who’s an ardent Emraan Hashmi fan, gets a one-time opportunity to sing his favorite star’s hit song Kaho Na Kaho from the 2004 cult favorite Murder. And it’s not only the Hindi version; Raghav goes one step further by singing the Arabic lines too, making the scene quirky and memorable.

What particularly makes this moment exceptional isn’t the song’s nostalgia but how Raghav lets go and surrenders to it. He revealed that he “actually started crying” while shooting the scene.

“Bahut accha response mila. Expect kiya tha maine bhi aur Aryan ne bhi ke aisa hoga,” Raghav recalled. “I really worked hard on myself and created something new. Bahut maza aaya mujhe. Emraan sir aaye aur woh scene hua, main rone bhi lag gaya scene mein! Aur woh bante bante ban gaya. Aisa scene bahut hee dil se kiya maine… Maine specially Arabic version gaya, I thought usse funny lagega.”

Sharing Screen Space With Emraan Hashmi

For an actor like Raghav, who has steadily been carving his own path in films and OTT, standing across from Emraan Hashmi, one of Bollywood’s most distinct and charismatic stars, was an experience of a lifetime.

Emraan is an actor who defined a generation of romantic thrillers and intense dramas, and Raghav admits that the energy he brought into the scene elevated it beyond what was scripted. What started as a fun tribute turned into a moment layered with vulnerability and emotion.

Fans who’ve watched the clip online echo the same sentiment: the scene works because it feels lived-in, not performed. And that, perhaps, is the magic Aryan Khan and his cast were aiming for.

The Raghav–Aryan Bond

Apart from the viral scene, Raghav also spoke candidly about his equation with Aryan Khan, who has made a confident directorial debut with The Ba**ds of Bollywood.

“Aryan aur mera dono ka dimaag thoda khurafaati hai. Dono ka dimaag mil jaata toh kuch aur hi ban jaata screen par. So we have great camaraderie. Main aur Aryan jab milte the scene set par, toh saari public jaan jaati thi kuch hone wala hai. Mera aur Aryan ka combination bahut ghatak hai,” he laughed.

This easy bond between director and actor, he believes, is one of the reasons his character Parvaiz feels so authentic. Aryan encouraged him to experiment and to bring his quirks into the role, and that’s how the viral moment was born.

The Show Everyone’s Talking About

The Ba**ds of Bollywood* is more than just a viral clip machine. The seven-episode series is about Aasmaan Singh (played by Lakshya), a struggling new actor who dreams of being a big star in the showbiz but image-conscious Bollywood. He has by his side Parvaiz (played by Raghav), his loyal friend, and Sanya (played by Aanya Singh), his dedicated manager.

Produced under Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the series boasts of an ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Sahher Bambba, and, of course, cameos like Emraan Hashmi that have audiences glued to the screen. Social media has already been filled with clips, reviews, and memes already, and it is one of the most talked-about Netflix Indian series this season.

Why This Scene Resonates

At its simplest, the Kaho Na Kaho scene works because it speaks to something universal: the child in all of us who is thrilled to meet the hero. For Parvaiz, Emraan is more than a star; he’s the dream, the fantasy, the ideal of everything larger than life. And when the dream confronts him in the flesh, the emotion can’t be contained.

Raghav Juyal poured his heart and soul into it, and the audience felt that sincerity. The tears weren’t canned, the jokes weren’t staged, and the sentiment was heartfelt. It’s a lesson in the reality that sometimes the most memorable scenes in a movie aren’t those that are danced perfectly or rehearsedto the core; they are the ones based on actual emotions.

As Raghav himself said, “Bahut hee dil se kiya maine.” And that’s why it touched so many souls.
