To continue receiving benefits under the Maharashtra government's Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, e-KYC has become mandatory. Learn how to complete e-KYC online, why it's important, and what happens if it's not done on time.

The Maharashtra government's 'Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' provides financial support to millions of women in the state. Under this scheme, ₹1,500 is sent directly to the bank accounts of women aged 21 to 65 every month. But if you're eligible for this scheme and want to keep receiving this money every month, complete your e-KYC immediately. Otherwise, your money could be stuck.

E-KYC has become mandatory

Recently, the government issued an order stating that every woman benefiting from the Chief Minister's Ladki Bahin Yojana must now complete her e-KYC. This process must be completed within the next two months, otherwise the monthly ₹1,500 credit to her bank account may be suspended. The government has also clarified that this process will now have to be repeated annually.

Easy way to complete e-KYC (Ladki Bahin Yojana e-KYC process)

E-KYC is very easy and you can do it from home. Simply follow these steps:

First, open an internet browser on your computer or smartphone and visit the government's official website, ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in.
On the website's homepage, you will see the 'e-KYC' option. Click on it.

A form will open. You'll need to fill in essential details like your name, address, ration card number, income information, and Aadhaar card number. You may also be asked to upload scanned copies or photos of certain relevant documents.

After filling in all the information and uploading the documents, click the 'Submit' button. This will complete your e-KYC process.

Why e-KYC is Important

Recently, it was revealed that approximately 26.34 lakh fake beneficiaries, including men, were receiving funds from this scheme. Following this misstep, the government made e-KYC mandatory to ensure transparency and ensure that benefits reach the right beneficiaries. Currently, 2.25 crore women are enrolled in this scheme.
