Roo Irvine is a staple in BBC's Bargain Hunt but what is her real name?

The 33-year-old is not only best known as a presenter and antiques expert on Bargain Hunt but also regularly features on other hit daytime shows like Antiques Road Trip and Flipping Profit.

She previously told the BBC that the "world of antiques found me" as she and her husband Mark Irvine had their own marking consultancy when they were pushed to leave the corporate world behind when both of their fathers died in 2013.

Their love of antiques grew after furnishing their own home which, in turn, led to them opening up their own antiques shop in the village of Kilcreggan.

She added: "BBC's Antiques Road Trip visited with Paul Laidlaw, and I was the shop dealer!

"A few months later, they asked if they could put me forward to become an expert and so I joined the Road Trip team in 2017, and in 2019, Bargain Hunt very kindly got in touch, and I'm so happy they did!"

While Roo Irvine may be a familiar face when it comes to daytime TV, most fans won't know that this isn't actually what she's called.

The Bargain Hunt star's real name is Arusha Irvine, with "Roo" just a nickname, presumably given to her by her friends and family.

Little is known about her private life with the star preferring to keep out of the spotlight when she isn't on BBC's daytime shows.

What fans do know is that Irvine has been married to husband Mark since 2012, living in Scotland with their two Maine Coon cats.

When questioned about how she likes to spend her free time, Irvine shared:" Free time is a luxury these days - I rarely allow myself to unwind - but a perfect lazy day would be a crackling log fire, cosy blankets, good books (or cookery books... I have over 300) and soothing jazz in the background!

"Board games with my hubby and our three cats happily snoozing beside us, and of course, lovely food at the end of it!

"Days like that turn up once a year at Christmas unfortunately, but I and all of us, must remember the importance of 'me time'!"
