When it comes to the dreaded task of vacuuming, having a powerful vacuum cleaner can make the chore less arduous and time-consuming. In particular, a cordless vacuum that has plenty of suction power and can run for ages on a single charge means users can get the whole house clean and dust-free without hassle, leaving more time to spend on the things they enjoy most.

Vacuum technology is always evolving, and Dyson has just brought out a new version of its popular V8 Cyclone model. For £349.99, shoppers can get their hands on the Dyson V8 Cyclone vacuum cleaner, an upgraded model with more bells and whistles than ever before.

The new Dyson V8 Cyclone vacuum cleaner has 30% more suction than the previous version, and is said to be able to remove 50% more dirt on a single charge. Plus, its enhanced seven-cell battery means it can run for up to 60 minutes on a single charge, as the brand states, although we are yet to test this out for ourselves.

With three power modes, triggerless operation and a promise of tangle-free vacuuming, the new Dyson V8 Cyclone has been upgraded and improved to capture 99.99% of microscopic particles with its fully sealed, whole-machine filtration system. It detangles and removes pet hair and can reach even the most awkward spots thanks to its crevice tool, getting into spaces as small as half an inch.

The newest addition to Dyson's line-up does stand out when it comes to battery life. For example, the VAX Pace Plus Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, which is now £129.99, down from £189.99, runs for up to 40 minutes on a single charge. This includes additional tools in the package.

Alternatively, the Shark PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuumwith Anti Hair Wrap & Floor Detect is currently £199.99 down from £249.99 direct from Shark, and is specially designed to tackle hair and fur around the home. With up to 50 minutes' runtime on a single charge, users can get their whole home clean without waiting for a recharge, and it is said to trap over 99.9% of dust and allergens too.

However, the new Dyson V8 Cyclone vacuum cleaner has plenty of rave reviews from happy shoppers. One buyer said: "Great battery life and powerful suction.

"Practical mini motorised brush. So easy to use that my kids now want to vacuum their room!" Another reviewer wrote: "We've been using this product for four days, and I have to say it's one of the best vacuums we've ever had at home.

"Its suction capacity helps ensure the floor is spotless in just one pass. It's handy and very easy to use. Its wall-mounted charging system helps keep it always neat and ready for use."

A third said: " Like my previous Dyson vacuum, it's a good machine that perfectly fulfils its purpose. It's noticeably more powerful and has a longer battery life.

"I especially liked how quickly and efficiently it removes my dog's hair from upholstery and fabrics with the mini motorised brush, which I hadn't tried before and which will now be a staple in my home." However, some users did run into some issues.

As one shopper said: "Overall, I'm satisfied with the product. It's super convenient because I'm used to a corded vacuum cleaner, lightweight and easy to handle, and it has high suction power. The only flaw I found is that the battery doesn't hold a charge very well."

Another said: "The device is manoeuvrable, but it cannot go under furniture due to its thin brush, similar to that of canister vacuums. It is quieter than the V7 models and below, offers good battery life, and the tank fills quickly with a long-haired dog. However, the non-folding arm is a disadvantage for easily getting under chairs, tables, etc."
