Allahabad University has opened the application process for admission to PhD courses today, September 25th. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the university's official website, allduniv.ac.in. The last date for filling the registration form is October 22nd. A total of 873 PhD seats will be available in 43 subjects, of which 534 are on the main campus and the remaining 339 are in colleges. For the first time, AU will conduct admission to PhD courses based on UGC NET scores. Previously, admissions were made through the Common Research Entrance Test (CRET). Last year, candidates were admitted to PhD courses in various subjects through the CRET exam.

AU PhD Admission 2025 Application Fee: How much is the application fee?
The registration fee for General, OBC, and EWS categories is ₹600. The application fee for SC, ST, and differently-abled students is ₹300.

AU PhD Admission 2025 Selection Process: How to get admission?
Admission to the PhD course will be based on merit. Merit will be determined based on academic qualifications, with 120 marks assigned for evaluation. 70 marks will be awarded to UGC NET, 20 marks to academic performance, and 30 marks to the Research Aptitude Test. AU PhD Admission: How was admission done earlier?
Previously, there was a CRET exam for admission. Candidates with NET/JRF qualifications were required to pass both CRET Level 1 and Level 2 exams. Only successful candidates were admitted to PhD programs.
