Worship of Goddess Shakti on Dussehra

Goddess Shakti is done on Dussehra or Vijayadashami and the reason is that this festival is celebrated on the 10th day after worshiping Goddess Durga for nine days of Navratri. Also, weapons are worshiped on this day, because Lord Rama worshiped his weapons before conquering Ravana. On this day, Mother Durga also worshiped the weapons before killing Mahishasura.
