Chennai, September 28 (Read News) – In a move to modernise its telecom offerings, BSNL Chennai Telephones has announced the launch of eSIM services for local users along with the rollout of international prepaid roaming in collaboration with StarHub Singapore. The dual launch marks a major step toward digitisation and global connectivity for the state-run telecom operator.
The newly introduced eg Service eliminates the need for physical SIM cards by embedding a digital SIM directly into compatible smartphones. This allows users to activate BSNL connections seamlesslyswitch between multiple profiles, and enjoy enhanced security.
Under the tagline “No SIM, No Limits – BSNL eSIM now in Chennai Telephones”customers can activate their eSIMs through BSNL customer service centres or by contacting the helpline. The move aligns BSNL with global telecom operators that have already adopted eSIM technology.
BSNL has also started prepaid international roaming services for Chennai subscribers on StarHub’s LTE network in Singapore, effective August 4, 2025.
