BBC Countryfile presenter Matt Baker has announced a change to next week's programme.

The beloved farming show airs Sunday evenings, and has been running for nearly 40 years with a rotating cast of presenters including John Craven, Adam Henson, Helen Skelton, Sean Fletcher and Anita Rani.

Tonight's episode saw The One Show star Matt joined by Charlotte Smith in Wrexham for The Supreme, an annual sheepdog competition.

However halfway through the show, he revealed there'd be a change for next week's episode as a special would air.

Matt announced: "Next week brings another big event, the Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need."

A pre-recorded clip of John then aired, as he shared some details alongside Pudsey.

He said: "Let's get ready to Ramble. The Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need 2025 will be on your screens on October 5th.

"And we're going to be rambling on a farm, that's great Pudsey, isn't it? A lot to see and do on a farm."

He advised viewers on how to donate and order special Countryfile Children in Need bobble hats, saying: "This year, Pudsey is asking you to challenge yourself and help us make life lighter for children.

"Only with your support can we continue to help to lighten the load for hundreds of thousands of children when they need us the most."

The BBC programme then shared a clip of a 16-year-old girl named Grace who is a young carer for her sister, and the life-changing impact Children in Need has had on her.

The episode will see Matt Baker, Anita Rani, Sean Fletcher, Joe Crowley and John Craven lace up their walking boots and explore the border of Shropshire and Staffordshire, hearing the stories of young people whose lives have been positively impacted by Children in Need along the way.

Together, they will meet some incredible young people who whose lives have been positively impacted by BBC Children in Need, sharing their stories in the speical episode.

In recent weeks, John has been encouraging viewers to plan their own sponsored rambles: mapping out a route, recruiting fellow walkers and fundraising to support BBC Children in Need's vital work.

Now in its 11th year, Countryfile Ramble has raised £16.5m since it began in 2015.

He said: "The Countryfile Ramble is always such an uplifting experience. It's a chance to celebrate the courage and resilience of young people supported by BBC Children in Need and to come together as a community, step by step, to make a real difference.

"And with the ramble set amid a beautiful landscape, it's a powerful reminder of just what can be achieved while out enjoying a day in the countryside."
