The government has transferred this land to UPCida (Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority). Industrial hub to be built on 80 acres of land, promoted agro -based industries
This industrial park will be prepared on about 80 acres of land of Semri spinning mill located in Mahmudabad area. This spinning mill was established in the year 1985 and used to supply thread for the carpet industry and weaving, but had been closed for many years. Now more than 100 industrial units are expected to be established on it.
This industrial park will mainly install agricultural -based industries. The farmers of Sitapur, Bahraich and Barabanki will get direct benefit of this. Industries to be established here will use the produce of farmers as raw materials, which will increase their income.
Employment, best transport facility to more than 20 thousand people
This project will create new employment opportunities in the area. It is estimated that more than 20 thousand people will get direct and indirect employment here. This will strengthen the economy of not only Sitapur but surrounding districts.
The Mahmudabad area of Semri is also very important in terms of transportation. There is a direct road connectivity to Lucknow, Barabanki and Bahraich from here.
