The torrential rains in the cone development block of Sonbhadra district have severely affected life, causing heavy destruction in the area. Many villages including Ramgarh, Mahiuddinpur, Kon, Mishri, Ragaram, Kachanarwa and Mitihinia have been the most affected. Rivers are in spate due to continuous rains, which have damaged roads in low -lying areas and many houses have been destroyed.

Traffic in the area has been completely disrupted due to heavy rains. Local residents said that there has been waterlogging on the main road from Kon to Vindhamganj and the water level of Pandu river has increased the water level of Jharkhand due to water flowing from the Pandu river bridge in Bhagadhti on the Kharundhi road. Damage of roads and spreading mud have also made it difficult to walk. There is an atmosphere of chaos in the region due to this unexpected destruction.

Regional people informed about the damage caused by the river boom. Rajkishore Vishwakarma, a resident of Ragaram, said that the water of Lua river suddenly entered his house at around 1 pm last night, which damaged his house. He said that as soon as the information was received, the number 112 team reached the spot and brought them to a safe place, which averted a major accident. At the same time, a family house has been completely damaged in Gram Panchayat Mitihinia and there is no place to live with them.

After taking stock of the situation, the Mandal President of the BJP Kisan Morcha confirmed the huge loss. He said that many houses have been destroyed and the condition of roads is very bad. He has assured to talk to the district administration to get compensation to the affected families at the earliest. The victim families, especially the damaged house of Mitihinia, have demanded immediate compensation and relief material from the administration so that they can bring their lives back on track. The people of the area have requested the district administration to resolve this problem quickly and get appropriate compensation for damaged houses.
