The weekly Khichdi Bhandara launched by Shri Ram Seva Samiti in Obra has now become an excellent example of promoting mutual harmony and human service in the society. This initiative began as a small concept of journalist Ajit Singh, the main objective of establishing the service and true unity of humanity.

The committee is giving a strong message of equality and brotherhood through this event. On 4 September 2025, the seventh Saturday Khichdi Bhandare was successfully organized at the Hanuman temple located at Subhash Tirahe in Obra. This religious and public welfare event starts every Saturday at 5:00 pm.

The main goal of the committee is to establish the spirit of ‘no rich nor poor’. In Bhandare, the poor and rich people of the area received the offerings of khichdi in a similar way. This feature of the committee erases discrimination and brings everyone on a platform for food together, which has been highly appreciated by the local people. Saturday’s old tradition is also associated with distributing khichdi in Bhandare. Many parts of India have a tradition of eating khichdi on Saturday, behind which there are religious, Ayurvedic and practical reasons.

It is considered auspicious due to digestible and beliefs associated with Shani Dev. In Obra, this tradition has now become a symbol of community unity. The service and dedication of prominent members of Shri Ram Seva Samiti was commendable in making this event a success. The members of the committee carried out all the responsibilities unitedly, ranging from making prasad to peaceful distribution and maintaining the entire system. This noble initiative was started by Ajit Singh, and among the other dedicated servants supporting him.

In which mainly Sarita Singh, Pushpa Singh, Ranjit Tiwari, Rita Kumari, Sarvesh Dubey, Omprakash Singh, Arvind Singh, Alok Pandey, the Bhandare was concluded smoothly and the spirit of social harmony was strengthened. This time Roshan Singh Sankat Mochan Jha and Shri Ram Seva Samiti, who supported the Bhandare, believed in the team of Shri Ram Seva Samiti, the journalist in the team of Shri Ram Seva Samiti is believed to be the truth when the human being will be established in the society.
