Hilton signed a strategic partnership with Sun Group on Oct. 7 to develop five hotels with more than 2,000 rooms in Quang Ninh, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc, aiming to expand Vietnam’s upscale tourism capacity and strengthen hospitality infrastructure ahead of APEC 2027.

This new collaboration, marked by the presence of Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton, signifies a major step forward in both scale and impact, as Sun Group and Hilton bring leading brands, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton, into operation across Vietnam’s three key regions.The agreement follows the opening of La Festa Phu Quoc – Curio Collection by Hilton.

Hilton President and CEO Chris Nassetta said Vietnam has been an important market in Hilton’s Southeast Asia expansion, and the collaboration with Sun Group combines Hilton’s global portfolio with Sun Group’s local development experience to address changing traveler preferences.

“From luxury to lifestyle and full-service offerings, these new hotels will introduce a diverse range of experiences across Vietnam,” Chris Nassetta, President and CEO, Hilton said.

Phu Quoc, the partnership plans include Conrad Phu Quoc, Hilton Phu Quoc and DoubleTree by Hilton Phu Quoc, totaling nearly 2,000 rooms within a multi-brand hotel cluster at a tourism and events complex designed to support APEC 2027. This development will deliver exceptional hosting capacity to welcome thousands of delegates, dignitaries, and international media attending one of Vietnam’s most significant diplomatic events.

The properties are planned to connect with the Convention Center and Phu Quoc International Airport. According to the partners, the cluster will also benefit from the launch of Sun Phu Quoc Airways to support meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.

In Quang Ninh, Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort will offer 216 rooms and villas designed in the style of a traditional Japanese onsen retreat, with public mineral baths and wellness facilities.

In Da Nang, LXR Hotels & Resorts is slated to debut in Vietnam with a property on Green Island along the Han River. The brand emphasizes individualized service and local cultural elements.

Sun Group Chairman Dang Minh Truong said introducing Hilton’s brands to the company’s destinations in Quang Ninh, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc is intended to set new benchmarks for integrated resorts combining leisure, entertainment, and wellness.

According to Sun Group, the projects will add nearly 2,000 rooms and broaden the range of hospitality offerings available to domestic and international travelers. “Each journey will go beyond simple accommodation or sightseeing to offer a complete experience that celebrates local character and world-class hospitality,” said a representative.

The announcement also highlights Sun Group’s efforts over the past 18 years to bring international hotel brands to Vietnam, contributing to the development of the country’s high-end tourism segment.

Hilton operates 25 brands, with more than 8,800 hotels and nearly 1.3 million rooms in 139 countries and territories, and a loyalty program with more than 200 million members.
