Bengaluru: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced that several parts of the city will experience power cuts over the next three days. The power outages will take place from October 8 to 10 due to several maintenance and repair works that will be undertaken by the BESCOM.
The BESCOM also stated that the scheduled power cuts are important for improving city’s infrastructure and ensuring stable electricity supply. The maintenance works will include – upgrading transmission lines, clearing vegetation near power grids, replacing transformers, and others.

The BESCOM urged residents to plan their day accordingly and charge essential devices beforehand to avoid inconvenience. It also requested citizens to keep an eye on all updates via its official social media channels @bescom_karnataka and @NammaBESCOM.

As per the IMD forecast, the city is likely to witness ‘generally cloudy sky throughout the week, accompanied by light rain and occasional thundershowers’. The weather agency added that the maximum temperature will hover around 28–29 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures will hover around 20 degrees Celsius. In addition to this, humidity levels in the city are expected to remain high (between 65% and 95%).
