The revised GST 2.0 structure has shaken up motorcycle prices across the board. While bikes with engines of 350cc or below have benefited from a price reduction, models with higher engine capacities have seen their prices rise.

Among those affected are two popular roadsters - the Triumph Speed 400 and the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. Here's how the new prices stack up and which one now offers better value.
Speed 400 And Guerrila 450 Prices After GST 2.0
Triumph has confirmed that it will absorb the GST-related price hike for the Speed 400. Technically, after GST 2.0, the motorcycle's ex-showroom price should have gone up to Rs 2.69 lakh. However, Triumph has decided to retain its pre-GST pricing at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). To make the deal more attractive, the brand is also offering a limited-time festive discount, bringing the effective price further down to Rs 2.34 lakh (ex-showroom).

Royal Enfield, on the other hand, has not absorbed the GST 2.0 hike. As a result, the Guerrilla 450 is now up to Rs 18,479 more expensive. Earlier priced between Rs 2.39 lakh and Rs 2.54 lakh, the Guerrilla 450 now falls in the range of Rs 2.56 lakh to Rs 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom).
Triumph Speed 400 Specifications
On paper, both motorcycles deliver similar performance figures. The Triumph Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It features 43mm USD Big Piston forks at the front with 140mm travel and a gas-charged monoshock with 120mm travel at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, both with ABS. The bike weighs 179 kg and has a seat height of 803 mm.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Specifications
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 uses a 452cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 40 PS and 40 Nm of torque, also mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It comes with a steel twin-spar frame, 43mm telescopic forks with 140mm travel, and a linkage-type monoshock with 150mm travel at the rear. The Guerrilla 450 offers a lower seat height of 780 mm but weighs slightly more at 184 kg.
With Triumph retaining prices and offering additional discounts, the Speed 400 now clearly undercuts the Guerrilla 450, making it the more affordable and better value-for-money option post GST 2.0.
