Metro: After the launch of Metro Rail in Patna, now the people of Jharkhand are also waiting for this facility.
Metro News: After the introduction of Metro Rail in Patna, people have got great relief in travelling. Now the expectations of running metro in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi and other major cities of the state have also increased. Positive dialogue has started in this direction between the Jharkhand Government and the Central Government, due to which people are likely to get relief from the jam in the coming time. Read complete details…
Apart from Ranchi, metro projects are being considered in industrial and congested cities like Jamshedpur and Dhanbad. The Central Government has asked the Jharkhand Government to prepare and send a new Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) for these three cities, so that the plans can be made as per the current needs.
Let us tell you that the CMP prepared by the Jharkhand Government a decade ago was sent to the Central Government. But according to the Centre, that old plan no longer meets the needs of the existing population, traffic and urban structure. For this reason, the Center has now asked for a CMP based on updated and real-time data from the state.
It is noteworthy that during the meeting of the Eastern Regional Council on July 10, CM Hemant Soren had placed the demand for metro rail project in Ranchi in front of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After this meeting, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department, Sunil Kumar immediately sent the proposal to the Centre.
After the demand for a new CMP came from the Centre, the Chief Minister directed the Urban Development and Housing Department to prepare the new CMP soon. Under this, the department has also issued Request for Proposal (RFP), so that expert agencies can prepare this plan as soon as possible. According to the department, this report will be submitted to the Center within 1.5 to 2 months.

The government believes that as soon as the new CMP is sent to the Centre, the formal processes for the Metro project can begin. The biggest benefit of this will be to the residents of these three cities, who have to face terrible traffic every day.
Talking about the capital Ranchi, despite the construction of four flyovers, the traffic condition is very bad. For example, the journey of just 10 minutes from Kishoreganj to Kanke often takes 30 minutes. The roads here are filled with private vehicles and the lack of public transport is clearly visible.
The metro project will not only improve the traffic system of these cities, but it will also promote public transport. With this, people will choose metro instead of private vehicles, which will reduce the pressure of vehicles on the roads and can also reduce air pollution.
After the launch of Metro in Patna, people of Jharkhand are also very excited about Metro. Both the central and state governments are showing activeness in this direction. If everything happens as per schedule, then soon people of Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad can also get the gift of Metro.
