MP News: A heart-wrenching case of police brutality has come to light from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, which shook the entire city. 22 year old B.Tech student Udit Gayke died after being brutally beaten by the police. In a video viral on social media, it is clearly visible that policemen are brutally beating the student, which has created a lot of anger among the people. After this incident, Bhopal Police took immediate action and suspended the two accused constables and registered a case of murder against them. This incident not only raises questions on the working style of the police but also highlights the issue of increasing police harassment in the society. The family of the deceased and the local people are demanding strict action in this matter.

What is the whole matter?

This tragic incident happened on Thursday night in Indrapuri area. Deceased Udit Gayke was partying with his friends. At around 1:30 in the night, when they were returning, Udit saw policemen on the roadside and out of fear he ran towards a street. A friend of the deceased told that when we folded hands and asked the police not to do this, the accused constables demanded Rs 10,000 from us. He said give the money or face beatings. After this, the police caught Udit and beat him brutally, due to which his condition deteriorated.

After the beating, Udit was immediately taken to the hospital but the doctors declared him dead. Many injury marks were found on his body, which were testifying to the brutality of the police. The post mortem report also said beating was the cause of death. This incident has raised serious questions on the accountability and functioning of the police.

Police action and suspended constable

DCP Vivek Singh of Bhopal Zone-2 gave instructions for immediate action in this matter. He said that the cause of death became known after the post mortem report came. In this, it has been confirmed that the victim was assaulted. After this, two accused constables, Santosh Bamania and Saurabh Arya, were suspended. A case of murder has been registered against him under section 103 of the Indian Justice Code. The DCP said that both the accused constables will be arrested soon.

Family’s pain and society’s anger

Udit Gayke’s parents work in Bhopal while his brother-in-law is posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in Balaghat district. This incident has left the family in deep shock. Anger is also rising among the local people against this attitude of the police. ,
