News Desk. A major step has been taken towards further strengthening the road network of Uttar Pradesh. The 218 km long national highway from Mathura to Bareilly is being converted into four lane. Under this project, not only the road is being widened, but bypasses at four important places and a new bridge on river Ganga at Kachla are also being built.
Construction taking place in four phases
The entire project is divided into four phases. The first phase has been successfully completed from Mathura to Hathras. In the second phase, road work is going on rapidly from Hathras to Kasganj, while in the third phase, construction work is in progress from Kasganj to Badaun. Now the focus is on the fourth and final phase, in which construction of a 38.5 km long road between Badaun to Bareilly is proposed. This phase is targeted to be completed by December 2027.
Four new bypasses and one bridge
To make travel on this highway easier and faster, bypasses are being built at four places between Badaun and Bareilly, Malgaon, Binawar, Bhamora and Devchara. Through these bypasses, traffic will flow seamlessly between cities, improving both road safety and speed.
A new bridge is also being built on river Ganga in Kachla. This bridge will not only bring convenience to the local people but will also make access to pilgrimage sites easier. This will provide new development opportunities to religious places like Kachla and Soron.
construction going on rapidly
According to project director Utkarsh Shukla, work on the fourth phase will be started soon. At present the work of removing trees and adding soil is going on. NOC has been taken at many places and land has been made available. Road work between Kachla and Ujhani is going on at a fast pace. The estimated cost of the entire project is around Rs 1000 crore.
Tourism and development will get a boost
The biggest advantage of this four-lane highway will be that the tourists going towards Mathura, Agra and the mountains will get a fast, safe and comfortable route. Also, access to religious tourist places like Soron Shukar Kshetra and Kachla Gangaghat will be easier, which will also boost the regional economy.
