After this, you'll need to undergo biometric verification and pay a fee of ₹75. After submitting the form, officials will enter your new number into the UIDAI system. The new number is typically linked within 3 to 5 days. After this, you'll be able to receive an OTP for any service on the new number.

What should I do to check the status?

Sometimes, updating your number takes longer than the stipulated time. Don't worry. To check if your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar, you can visit the UIDAI website and select the Verify Aadhaar or Check Aadhaar Status option. Here, you'll need to enter your Aadhaar number and captcha. If the update is complete, you'll see a confirmation.
