Maddock Horror Comedy Universe movies list: As excitement builds for the release of Thamma on October 21, 2025, producer Dinesh Vijan has revealed the complete slate of upcoming films from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). The Ayushmann Khurrana-led film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is set to expand the supernatural universe that began with Stree and continued through Bhediya and Munjya.

While Thamma introduces a new mythological layer to the franchise, the film’s post-credit scene is expected to tease the entry of Shakti Shalini, the next chapter in the MHCU timeline. In a recent interview, Dinesh Vijan confirmed that Thamma 2 is already in development, hinting that the franchise is far from reaching its conclusion. Scroll down to read about the next phase!

Shakti Shalini, Chamunda and Bhediya 2

The year 2026 is set to be an important one for the MHCU. Shakti Shalini, rumoured to star Aneet Padda, will be the first to release, now expected in early 2026 after being pushed from its initial December 2025 date.

Meanwhile, Chamunda, reportedly featuring Alia Bhatt in the lead, is also part of the 2026 lineup. Dinesh Vijan revealed to Galatta Plus that the release order has changed; Chamunda will now arrive before Bhediya 2. Initially slated for an August 14, 2026, release, Bhediya 2 has now been rescheduled to December 4, 2026, or early 2027. The film is expected to continue Varun Dhawan’s story while potentially bringing back Ayushmann Khurrana’s Betal from Thamma for an epic crossover moment.

Chhoti Stree, Stree 3 and Maha Munjya: 2027 highlights

By 2027, the universe will shift focus to Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree. During the Thamma x Stree event, the actress revealed that an animated spin-off titled Chhoti Stree will explore her origin story, followed by the much-awaited Stree 3, expected to release on August 13, 2027. Later that year, the Munjya sequel, Maha Munjya, will arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2027.
