A recent viral post on X explained how you can delete years of data stored using a few simple steps. Let's explore how to do this...

1. Start with Google Activity
First, go to myactivity.google.com. Here, you'll find your entire search history, map routes, and YouTube videos. You'll also find the option to delete all tracking history by going to Delete Activity By and selecting All Time.

2. Prevent new data collection
To prevent further data collection, go to Activity Controls and turn off Web & App Activity, Location History, and YouTube History. This will prevent Google from saving your location and search information.

3. Turn off tracking completely
Go to the Data & Privacy section of your Google Account and turn off all tracking settings. This will prevent your online activity from being tracked across devices.

4. Set Auto-Delete
Select the Auto-Delete option to avoid repeated deletions. Here you can set the data to be automatically deleted after 3, 18, or 36 months.

5. Secure your connection
Use a VPN to prevent your online activity from being tracked. Also, switch to privacy-focused browsers like Brave, Tor, or DuckDuckGo, and change your password every few months.
