The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued new directives to all affiliated schools across the country. The board has clarified that no school should now send any requests for countersignatures on Transfer Certificates (TCs) to either its headquarters or regional offices. This decision was taken to promote transparency and digitalization in the education system. While the CBSE has already abolished this practice, some schools are still facing inconvenience due to non-compliance.
Schools instructed to avoid old rules.
The CBSE issued a strict notice directing all schools to ensure that no countersignatures are required on Transfer Certificates (TCs). Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj explained that the board has already abolished this practice, but many schools are still following the old rules. This is causing unnecessary inconvenience to students and parents, even though in the digital age, this process has become completely online and simple.
Digitization will increase transparency and convenience.
With this directive, it is hoped that all schools will follow CBSE's new guidelines, ensuring timely and smooth TC access for students.
