But according to this tradition, the body of the person is kept at the Tower of Silence and is eaten by vultures. But now this practice has almost stopped. Due to this, the tradition of cremation or burial is now followed.

Before her death, Zarine Khan had expressed her desire to be cremated as per Hindu customs. The reason for this was that his family surname was Katrak. Due to this, his faith remained intact and even after marriage he did not accept Islam. That is why Zareen Khan’s family and her son Zayed Khan, following the mother’s last wish, performed the last rites as per Hindu customs.
