New Delhi: Valve has announced its official release of the Steam Machine, a small PC gaming device that will be released in early 2026. The Steam Machine is built in a TV-friendly size that is ideal in a living room setup and provides desktop-level performance. The new hardware operates using SteamOS and will provide access to the entire Steam library on signing in with a Steam account. It is a component of the larger Steam Hardware range of products that also comprises the new Steam Controller and Steam Frame, which brings the whole gaming ecosystem together.

The Steam Machine is placed as a potent but easy-to-use alternative to the classic gaming PC and is designed to fill the gap between consoles and desktop gaming. Valve also guarantees a seamless and consistent experience across platforms and performance and compatibility scores to assist players in finding games that are optimised.

The Steam Machine is more than 6 times faster than the Steam Deck with a semi-custom AMD CPU and GPU that has 4K output at 60 fps with FSR on. It includes a suspend and resume feature, cloud saving, and a new Steam Machine Verification option to assist the user on compatibility. The system has a 160 mm cube shape, an in-built power supply, an LED light, and a wide range of I/O connectivity, such as HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C, and 4 USB-A ports. The wireless features are Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as an inbuilt adapter for the Steam Controller.

Valve has two storage options with 512GB and 2TB, with the option of expansion by use of microSD to bring on board more storage capacity. Steam applications, as well as other operating systems, can also be utilised on the Steam Machine, which attracts both casual and PC players.

Valve has affirmed an international release in early 2026, and custom Steam Hardware sites are currently live on the Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Steam Frame.
