Actor Sherlyn Chopra recently underwent surgery to remove her breast implants.

The decision was taken after she experienced chronic pain for several months.

"Since the last couple of months, I have been enduring chronic back, chest, neck, and shoulder pain and chronic pressure in my chest area," she revealed on Instagram.

She further revealed, "After a series of medical investigations and back-and-forth consultations, I have realized that the cause of my chronic pain has been my heavy breast implants."

"In my best interests, and to bring back agility, vitality, and stamina into my life, I have decided to have my breast implants removed once and for all."

She was 'excited' to start a new life
Emotional journey

Chopra shared a video on Instagram before her surgery, expressing mixed feelings of nervousness and excitement.

"Am I nervous? A little....excited? Immensely. I cannot wait to start a brand new life with no excess baggage," she said in the video.

She also shared that this wasn't her first move toward embracing a more natural version of herself; she had previously removed all fillers from her face in August 2023 to look like her authentic self.

Netizens praised her for choosing authenticity over validation
Online reaction

Chopra's decision to remove her breast implants has sparked discussions about body image, cosmetic procedures, and self-acceptance.

Many netizens praised her vulnerability and courage.

One follower wrote, "I feel so good to hear this...No one can imagine the pain and trauma that goes behind to meet that idealistic standards."

Mini Mathur also showed her support, saying, "You are more than your body. And your power doesn't lie in its beauty. All the best for the new you."

Feeling lighter, says Chopra post-surgery
Post-surgery update

Chopra later shared a post-surgery update on Instagram stories, asking her fans to pray for her. "Feeling lighter," she wrote in the caption.

Meanwhile, Dr. Shraddha Deshpande, a plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon, told Indian Express that larger breast implants can cause back, neck, and chest pain due to added weight on the body's natural structure.

These symptoms are common among individuals with oversized implants.
