Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol ’s friendship inspired billions around the world, and with Bryant’s untimely death, Gasol stepped up to be there for the NBA legend’s children and widow, Vanessa Bryant . Both families have always been close, but the 2020 tragedy got them closer.

In the pictures posted by Pau Gasol, he is seen posing with his wife, Cat Gasol, along with their three young children, Vanessa Bryant and her daughters, as both families celebrated Halloween together.
A second picture posted by Pau Gasol shows his two young children trick-or-treating along with Bianka Bryant, as the children looked excited and happy.

Pau Gasol opened up about Kobe Bryant and how the tragedy affected him
Back in 2020, just eight months after the tragedy which took away Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant’, Pau Gasol and his wife welcomed their daughter, Elisabet and chose “Gianna” to be her middle name.
Pau Gasol spoke about this and said, “It’s just a way to honor Gianna, how much she means to us and our family, my wife and I…Gigi was meant to be a superstar. She was a mini-Kobe. She was going to rock this world. The way she was taken from us, so young, so abruptly, broke a lot of people’s hearts. To me she will always be a presence to my daughter.”
The NBA legend added, “The loss and the grieving brought us closer together.”
Pau Gasol also spoke of the bond he shared with Kobe Bryant and said, “We had that type of love and appreciation for each other...It even increased when we stopped playing. You had the competition, the teammates, the grind, all that was not happening once I left the Lakers and once he retired. And now we saw the truth, the true emotions, the genuine care and love for each other. That was us.”
