Rapper Tory Lanez was fined $20,000 for contempt of court , giving Megan Thee Stallion , Klay Thompson 's girlfriend, a significant victory in her slander lawsuit against Milagro Gramz. Canadian rapper Tory Lanez's appeal of his conviction and sentencing in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case was denied by a three-judge panel of the California 2nd District Court of Appeal.
After they argued while leaving a pool party at reality star Kylie Jenner's Hollywood residence, Lanez is accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the leg. Megan needed surgery to get gunshot fragments out of her foot. The court found Lanez guilty of three gun-related counts, and he was punished in 2023. A dramatic turn in a high-profile battle pulls Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson into fresh headlinesLanez was found in contempt of court on Sunday for not responding to questions during a deposition, according to Meghann Cuniff. Cuniff tweeted:
"Tory Lanez and his lawyer have been held in contempt of court after Lanez refused to answer questions in a deposition in Megan Thee Stallion's defamation lawsuit against Milagro Gramz. He's to pay $20,000, and the jury in Megan's trial will be told he refused to answer questions.”
The independent reporter included a copy of a court document signed by US Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid in her X post. On October 30, 2024, Stallion's lawyers had first sued Gramz for slander.
Megan Thee Stallion said in the initial complaint that the YouTuber served as a "mouthpiece" and disseminated false information in support of Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year term for shooting Thompson's girlfriend in the foot in 2020.

In Megan Thee Stallion's defamation and cyberstalking lawsuit against YouTube blogger Milagro Gramz, Tory Lanez was found in contempt of court for failing to respond to simple questions during his third jailhouse deposition.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid ruled on Sunday that Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, must pay $20,000 to Megan's attorneys "as a fine for his obstruction of Plaintiff’s multiple attempts to depose him."
Megan's lawsuit against Gramz began with jury selection in Miami on Monday, coinciding with the new ruling, which also penalised Peterson's attorney, Crystal Morgan. The musician asked at the beginning of his deposition on Friday what would happen if he refused to answer questions, according to the judge. He allegedly replied that he could be held in contempt and fined.
“Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them. I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”
Meanwhile, as of now Klay Thompson hasn’t said anything about Meg’s shooting incident.
