India vs South Africa, Guwahati Test: A two-match Test series is being played between India and South Africa. The first match of this series has been played in Kolkata. The second match of this test series will be played in Guwahati from 22nd November. A different schedule will be seen during this match. In this test match, tea break will be taken before lunch.

This is going to be the first time in the history of Test cricket that there will be a tea break before lunch. Generally in a test match there is first lunch and then tea break. But this will change during the Guwahati match. Along with this, the match will also start soon. This change has been made keeping in mind the weather in Guwahati. In India, usually a Test match starts at 9:30 am. But this match will start from 9 o’clock.

First tea and then lunch break.

Two hours after the start of the match, lunch takes place at 11:30 and tea break takes place at 2:00 in the afternoon. However, this match will start from 9 o’clock. Tea break will be taken after two hours. There will be tea break from 11 am to 11:20. After that the game will continue for two hours. Lunch will be from 1:20 to 2 pm. The final session will be played from 2 pm to 4 pm. The day’s play will end at 4 o’clock.

Guwahati test match schedule under the new schedule

  • Toss- 8:30 AM
  • First session- Starts from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM
  • T-break- 11 am to 11:20 am, T-break will be of 20 minutes.
  • Second session – starting from 11:20 am to 1:20 pm
  • Lunch Break- 1:20 PM to 2:00 PM
  • The last session will start at 2:00 pm and will end at 4:00 pm

Why was there a change in the timing of Guwahati test match?

In fact, in northeastern cities like Guwahati, sunrise occurs early and sunset also occurs early. Due to natural light fading early in the evening, the BCCI changed the tee timings and schedule of the Test match. Its objective is to ensure that a maximum of 90 overs can be played in a day. For this reason BCCI decided to adjust the timing of the session.
