There's great news for candidates appearing for the GATE 2026 exam. The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, has announced the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam dates. Candidates who registered for the GATE 2026 exam can now view and download the exam dates by visiting the official website. The GATE exam will be held in different shifts between February 7 and 15, 2026.

Exam Dates
IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The subject-wise exam schedule has been released by IIT Guwahati. Candidates can view the subject-wise exam schedule by visiting the official website. Additionally, the GATE 2026 exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the second shift will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Results will be declared on this day.
IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE exam in February. After the completion of the exam, the results will be released on March 19, 2026.

Exam Pattern
The GATE exam is conducted for a total of 30 subjects. Candidates can select one or two papers from these 30 subjects. The exam lasts for a total of three hours. Additionally, candidates are asked multiple-choice questions related to the subject. A total of 100 questions are asked in the exam, including 15 questions from the General Aptitude subject and 85 from the subject selected by the candidate. Furthermore, negative marking is also provided for each wrong answer.
