Why is mobile number and voter ID link important?

It is very important to have a mobile number to fill the online SIR form and update your voter details. This is necessary for the security of your Voter ID and OTP verification. If the mobile number is not linked, then you can add the mobile number immediately by filling Form-8. You will get this form on the official website of the Election Commission. Keep in mind that the information of Voter ID and Aadhar Card should be exactly the same.

How to fill SIR form online?

  • Login to voter portal https://voters.eci.gov.in or do new registration.
  • Click on 'Search Your Name in Voter List' option. Check your name in previous SIR or new list.
  • Fill the Enumeration Form 2026 by clicking on 'Fill Enumeration Form'.
  • Select your EPIC number and state. Pre-filled form will appear, check the information.
  • Link mobile number, voter ID. If there is no link then fill Form-8. The update will be completed after verifying the OTP.
  • Fill your details like name, age, gender, address correctly and upload passport size photo (white background).
  • Verify OTP by entering Aadhaar number. Your SIR form will be submitted.

9 December 2025: Draft voter list released

9 December 2025-8 January 2026: Claim and objection period

1 February 2026: settlement of claims

4 February 2026: Final voter list released
