The 'Lokah' universe is officially expanding again. Months after 'Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra' rewrote Malayalam box-office history and became the industry’s all-time highest-grossing film in August 2025, the team has now reportedly taken a major step toward the highly anticipated sequel.

According to Filmi Beat, the writer-director Dominic Arun and his collaborator Santhy Balachandran have kickstarted the scripting of ' Lokah Chapter 2 '.
Tovino Thomas leads again as Michael
Tovino Thomas will headline the second instalment, returning as Michael who is the Chathan (goblin). The post-credits sequence which includes the cameo appearances by Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas, hints at a darker and more complex journey ahead. In that scene, Michael spoke of his 389 identical siblings and a “not-so-fun big brother” who is after him and Moothon (The Elder). Later the makers announced the second part for 'Lokah' via an interesting glimpse that featured the characters Chathan and Odiyan.
Returning characters and emotional threads
The sequel is also expected to explore the unresolved dynamics between Michael and Chandra, also known as Neeli. Meanwhile, Chandra, her boyfriend Sunny (Naslen), and his friend Venu (Chandu Salimkumar) are likely to return as well. Michael handing over his keychain to Venu in Chapter 1 along with the line “you’ll need it later” is now widely seen as a heavy foreshadowing for an upcoming moment of crisis.
A bigger universe, higher expectations
With 'Lokah Chapter 1' establishing the world, mythology, and visual scale of Lokah, the expectations from Chapter 2 are already sky-high. The Lokah universe is set to grow, and the excitement is already unmistakable.
On the other hand, Tovino Thomas has the most awaited film 'Pallichattambi' in the pipeline. The movie is directed by Dijo Jose Antony and also features the 'Dragon' actor Kayadu Lohar in the female lead. Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in the period thriller 'Kaantha'.
