South Africa’s regular captain Temba Bavuma is not playing in the first match being played against India in Ranchi, Aiden Markram is the acting captain in his place.

Delhi: The first match of the 3-match ODI series between India and South Africa is being played in Ranchi today. In this exciting battle on Sunday, South Africa won the toss and invited the Indian team to bat first. But the regular captain of visiting South Africa, Temba Bavuma, is not playing in this match.

As soon as the captains of both the teams entered the field for the toss at the JSCA Cricket Stadium in Ranchi, Aiden Markram entered for South Africa along with Indian captain KL Rahul. It became clear that Temba Bavuma is not a part of the playing-11.

Proteas team’s acting captain Aiden Markram revealed the reason for Temba Bavuma not playing after the toss. Markram told that Bavuma has been rested in this match. Also said about giving rest to Keshav Maharaj. Bavuma had made a clean sweep in the 2-match Test series against India on the basis of his tremendous captaincy.
