Kathmandu. Nepal Airlines crew member Sandesh Tiwari has been detained by Doha Police on charges of gold smuggling. Nepal Airlines issued a statement on Monday saying that Sandesh Tiwari has been suspended for three months. Eight tola gold has been recovered from Tiwari. Nepal Airlines spokesperson Archana Khadka said that this incident happened on November 29. Flight number RA 240 was to come from Doha to Kathmandu. During investigation at Doha Airport Customs, eight tola gold was found with Sandesh Tiwari. Due to this the plane had to be stopped for about 35 minutes. Krishna Bajgai, Doha station manager of Nepal Airlines, has confirmed this.
