One of the most groundbreaking production companies in the history of Tamil cinema, A.V.M. Meiyappa Chettiar founded this company and is known for its unwavering creations that combine quality and technology. After his death, A.V.M. Saravanan , who took over the reins of the company, further elevated that legacy. During his time, Tamil cinema reached new heights in terms of technology and production quality. After a few years of ill health, the news of his passing this (December 4) morning has left the film industry in mourning.
Rajinikanth pays his last respects to AVM Saravanan AVM Saravanan's mortal remains are kept on the third floor of AVM Studios as a place of tribute, and dignitaries from many fields, including politics and cinema, continue to come and pay their respects. Notable among them is actor Rajinikanth. He paid his respects in person and shared his memories of Saravanan in a heart-wrenching voice when speaking to the press and media outside the arena. “Saravanan sir is the one who gave life to the word gentleman. He wears only white clothes; his mind is equally white," Rajinikanth began.
Rajinikanth recalls the deep bond he shared with AVM SaravananThe closeness that Saravanan shared with Rajinikanth was evident in every word of his speech. “He is so loving that even if he speaks for 10 minutes, he remembers his father by saying ‘Appuchi’ 10 times. The affection he has for me is indescribable. When I was in crisis, Saravanan sir was the first person to come and support me," Rajinikanth said with emotion. Rajinikanth recalled that all nine films produced by AVM starring the former were hits, exemplifying the duo's technical confidence and emotional bond.
Rajinikanth’s emotional tribute to a visionary“AVM Saravanan was the reason why we made big films that were suitable for that time, like 'Murattukkalai' in the 80s, 'Sivaji' in the 2000s. We were talking about doing a film together again in the 2020s; but it didn’t happen,” said Rajinikanth, tearfully. He said that Saravanan's demise left him deeply saddened and prayed for the repose of his soul. "My heartfelt condolences to his family," Rajinikanth concluded his speech.
